Sit in the invisible chairs. Your neighbours might think you've lost it, but you'll avoid an expensive mistake.

Mistake #3: Ignoring the Walk Path

You need at least 60-90cm of walkway between furniture pieces. Singapore fire safety rules also require a minimum 1.2m clear path to your main door. Plan the layout before you shop.

Mistake #4: Choosing Style Over Durability

That velvet sofa looks stunning on Pinterest. In Singapore's humidity, it'll be a mouldy nightmare within a year. Choose materials suited to our climate instead, fabric sofas with removable, washable covers, or wipe-clean leather and leathaire.

Save money on things you'll replace in 5 years, like side tables and decor. Invest in the pieces you use every single day, your sofa, mattress, and dining table. A cheap mattress costs you in back pain. A cheap sofa costs you in comfort. These are 10-15 year investments.
